The loudest,
most gentle voice

The loudest, most gentle voice
spoke to me
from deep inside.

It whispered,
I need not be heard.

That is when my ego
began to tame.

A knowing
that doesn’t compete,
doesn’t assert itself,
and doesn’t need
to rise above anything else
to be real.

Completeness.

Ego wants to be seen,
validated,
understood,
even when it tries
to be humble.

It often disguises itself
in subtle ways,
but this voice
bypasses all of that.

It doesn’t try
to correct the ego,
it simply reveals
where the ego
has no function.

It has no more need
to dominate,
to prove,
or even to assert itself,

for the truest voice
is already everywhere,
before all sound,
before all expression.

It is the ground
from which sound arises.
